The Local in Fairbanks

Great airport with lots of facilities. Crowded with tourists in summer though, otherwise quick handling. In case you have to wait a while you can sit down comfortably.

What's the point of TSA pre check if I have to remove my jacket and shoes and go thru extra screening.

Great little airport with some fun decor throughout. It was very small, which was really nice. I walked right up to TSA and had no hiccups going through. The Starbucks on the gate side had 2 very friendly baristas and the restaurant (only one I think) had better salmon than an Alaskan cruise ship buffet. It was really good!

Relatively small, but is too be expected for a smaller town. There are many pluses here, like the lines are not long and the airport is not busy, (SoCal's LAX is waaaaaaaay different) and people there are informative. It is alaskan-themed, which I enjoyed seeing. The one problem with the airport is that for the 6 terminals they have, they only have two food places- Starbucks and some bar/grill place (sit-down only). If they had more food, this place would be great. But otherwise, this place is kept clean, but not so good for families, especially for those with some young picky eaters.

Clear and Clean Airport. Everything a bit slow. Slowest Wi-fi ever. Staff nice and helpfull but also every move seems like its done in slowmotion.

Great airport. Easy to get in and out. The baggage carrosel is a little slow, but the ticket counter agents and security folks are friendly....so that more than makes up for it. Its definitely a typical small airport with the associated pros and cons.

It takes too long to be able to get your bags and get people that are getting off the airplane they need a better setup to test people

Just better than sitting on plane

Flying is never easy, and flying my first time with an ESA was no exception. But the customer service representative at the Alaska Airlines desk was awesome. I showed up early and thought I had all my documents emailed in and ready to go, but ran into some issues. She did everything she could and in the end got the approval for my dog to fly with me. For anyone trying to fly with an ESA, be sure to submit paperwork for all airlines on your trip, even if it says operated by one airline but still ticked by another, do both!

Pretty accessible airport in Fairbanks. Check in is relatively easy, and security fairly smooth. If you arrive early then getting in and through is quick. There is a Starbucks, an overpriced restaurant, and a gift/sundries store. Make sure you buy your souvenirs in town and 2/3 less for them. Embarking and debating is easy as well. Parking is good, a little less expensive than a major metropolitan area but nonetheless still pricey. Plenty of travel options as well, taxis line up for the arriving flights and Uber and Lyft will come as well.

Our bus driver missed the exit got the airport so she had to extend the 4 minutes drive as there wasn’t another way in.United Airlines had a line up but we got through at a decent time. The airport was clean and cozy. Even though we didn’t order food we were able toso at he cafe and play cards until we left.

Pritty small and these days all is mostly closed. Since we are in day light season and covid is not helping is mainly a ghost town. The airport is very diligent when testing and is a very quick and easy process. They are very organized right now. Tastings are done at baggage claims1. Fill the Alaska Declaration Form2. Go to an agent and get your information in3. Then you go to a second agent to complete your information process. 4. You will receive a first text from Becon indicating that you are registered5. A Second text will be sent to you with the indication that they are ready for you 6. An medical care provider will come for you and take you to a small tent that they have at the baggage claims. 7. Testing is only on one side here. Only takes 3 minutes. 8. A document will be provided as proof that you have been tested. 9. Further instructions will be provided and test results should be sent to you by text or email withing 1 to 3 days.

Great airport, always enjoy flying in and out of FAI. Always clean, always welcoming, and perfect size

Small but beautiful airport.

Love small airports and this is a great one. Easy security, plenty of space to relax in the gate area, and a couple nice food options. There's plenty of charging stations too. The bathrooms are very clean, and our checked bags came very quickly. No need to arrive early as you'll get to the gate super quick - our flight out was Monday at 11am.

One of the friendliest airports I’ve ever been to. Everybody goes out of their way to interact with you and to help you get on your way. TSA here is easy and a no hassle experience. It is a very clean and orderly airport. Very modern yet with a sense of its past embedded throughout. Everything is spotless.

Such a great airport. Small, simple and clean. It looks pretty maintained. Starbucks is available, some bars are also available.

Great little airport! Boarded our plane quickly from the tarmac and were on our way! Even got a free local craft beer for the flight back to Anchorage!

Quick and easy airport

Small, clean airport and very attentive staff. Always love traveling through this airport. Upstairs only have a Starbucks and a bar. So eat first if you're hungry for a hot meal before getting to the airport.

It's small, so it's easy to navigate but still has a couple shops and food options. I got my luggage within a few minutes of arriving.

My favorite airport! I have been to all the major airports. Not many food options but they have TWO water bottle filling stations!!!

Such an easy airport. Flew from Seattle and sea tac was crazy but fairbanks was shockingly so easy even considering how small they are

Amazing destiny!

First time I flew into Fairbanks was August 1975 to work on pipeline it was a lovely clean airport then and still is The bear that is on display must be there at least 50 plus years I went back there 3 years ago to Fairbanks still have to say it's a fine Airport

Nice small airport servicing the Fairbanks area and connecting the remote villages with the rest of the state. Covid testing and screening onsite.

Easy to navigate and the people are very friendly and helpful

This airport was a great, warm welcome to my first time in Alaska! Clean and beautiful timber finish makes you forget about the frigid temperatures outside. A few displays of local wildlife as well as some nostalgic items including a biplane. Super friendly checkin staff and nicest TSA in the country!

Well, the airport is great for tourists, and the staff are very helpful. My bags were late with Alaska Airlines and I had to buy the necessities as all my clothes etc were in my bags (of course). I got reimbursed when I picked up my stuff two days later. Angela from Baggage Claim was very good with following up my delayed belongings.

Simple fairly small airport

Alaska airlines , as far as I considered, is the best airline of all the aspects in the States.

Very small airport which means very easy to find the rental car company, tourist information booth & etc. The rental car companies are right next to the baggage claim and their cars are all parked right in front of the airport. The highway entrance is just right next to the parking lot. Super convenient airport!

Excellent experience at this airport. Competent, friendly staff - from TSA to retail to gate agents. Each person was professional, efficient & courteous which I very much appreciated. Great job!

Very nice, quaint, clean airport. We liked it because it wasn't so crazy. We loved the caged stuffed animals. The bears, and moose gives you a real feeling of Alaska. Couple of nice restaurant/ cafes to get some food. Also nice gift shops. The people and employees were very friendly.

Ok airport, small as expected. It's is a short ride to Fairbanks, we ordered a uber. They also have car rental services right at the baggage claim area. Our baggages took some time to arrive, around 30 minutes, but it was probably an unexpected event.

TSA was quick and the Alaska Airlines staff were friendly as ever. What a great little airport to fly in/out of
